Why You Should Visit Turkey Now?

Hierapolis Turkey

Turkey is a land with incredible travel opportunities as they have preserved thousands of years of history. We literally lost count of the amount of “wow” coming out from our mouth. Just be ready to be mesmerised by this fascinating, unique piece of land. It is interesting that Turkey can combine both modern and traditional elements so nicely. Let us tell you what makes us fell in love with Turkey!

Improved Political Condition and Overall Safety

Turkey is always well known as one of the world’s top ten travel destinations. When there was political instability a few years back in 2016, the country suffered from the decline of tourism as tourists were afraid to travel. With the improved political condition nowadays, tourists start to gain confidence. You might still think it is dangerous to travel to Turkey but the truth is there is no better time to visit Turkey than now. It is country where everyone should experience once in their life!

Stunning Natural Landscape

You might think that many countries have natural wonders so what is so special about Turkey? Trust us, Turkey has many extraordinary landscapes. The diverse natural attractions have left us in awe. We need to start with the famous Cappadocia, a place which will make you doubt you are landing in another world. It is like a fairytale with mushroom-like chimneys, unique rock formations and caves. In the morning when numerous hot air balloons adorned the blue sky with the fascinating landscape as backdrop – you will never get to see this magical moment elsewhere in the world. Then, you have the romantic “cotton castle” Pamukkale. The white terraces are natural spa filled with warm mineral water. Besides the ample health benefits, this place is also super Instagram worthy. Moving on, beach bums will know that Fethiye is well known as a beach resort destination! Imagine yourself paragliding over Oludeniz’s Blue Lagoon, visit the Butterfly Valley, get some tan on the beaches, and more!

These landscapes will make you fall for Turkey, again and again. Plus, the places we mentioned are probably just an iceberg’s tip of the wonders Turkey can offer.

Rich in History, Culture and Heritage + Superb Architecture

As a country straddling Europe and Asia with cultural connections to ancient Greek, Persian, Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman empires, Turkey is a melting pot of history, culture and heritage. From Troy, to historic churches to the underground cities in Cappadocia – the amount of historic sites across the country is just remarkable and can you believe they have 18 UNESCO World Heritage sites? Turkey has lots of stories to tell. The ancient Greek city of Ephesus, for example, has well-preserved ruins like Library of Celsus, the Great Theatre, the Basilica of St. John and Temple of Artemis, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. A walk in Ephesus literally brings you back to the ancient time!

Talking about history and culture, you can’t leave Istanbul out. Bosphorus Strait separates Istanbul into Europe and Asia continents. This city is full of charm. The vibe, architecture and most importantly the hospitable people – It is really something you can’t find anywhere else in the world.

We were really impressed by the Turkish mosque architecture. Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Grand Mosque are our favourite masterpieces in Turkey. The Blue Mosque is especially gorgeous, with its huge domes, grand minarets, and the gorgeous interior made with more than 20,000 handmade blue ceramic tiles. All the details literally fit so perfectly into one.. We are speechless.

Turkey Will Not Burn A Hole in Your Pocket

Unlike other European countries, travelling in Turkey won’t cost you a bomb – flight to Turkey, to begin with, is already lower than flying to cities like Paris and London. Things are also not expensive. You can easily buy a kebab for 12 TRY (8 MYR / 2 USD) and a cup of Turkish tea at 2 TRY (1 MYR / 0.25 USD). In fact, this is more than enough to bring much contentment to your heart and stomach. Turkey is an ideal destination if you are travelling with a bunch of friends who don’t want to be broke after a trip!

Amazing Food Scene

Exploring local food is our favourite thing to do in any country. Turkish cuisine is one of the most famous cuisines in the world with the unique combination of Mediterranean and Middle Eastern dishes. Juicy kebab, Turkish tea, incredible street food, fresh seafood and the oh so sweet Turkish delights are just some of the highlights. How we miss the Balık Ekmek (fish sandwiches) and mussels! The fertile land of Turkey also produces some amazing agricultural products. They have the sweetest tomatoes and cherries we have ever had.
